Acoustic Brown

Acoustic Brown sits warmer than Anchovy and Bank Vault, but it's still restrained enough that it doesn't feel like a brown masquerading as gray. There's a genuine temperature shift here, it's got enough brown undertone to feel inhabited, almost lived-in, without becoming so saturated that it competes for attention. This is the gray you reach for when pure neutrality starts to feel cold.

It works in editorial layouts, content platforms, and design systems where you want the background to feel grounded rather than clinical. Unlike Chorus of Elephants, which sits heavier and cooler, Acoustic Brown has lift to it, it won't make your type weights feel aggressive, and it plays well with warm photography without disappearing into it. It's warmer than the cooler grays in the family, but still disciplined enough to stay in the background.
