Soon to Be Hay
#7bb369
Sunlit yellow-green transition for softer greens
About Soon to Be Hay
Soon to Be Hay reads like cut grass left to dry in open air. It's noticeably lighter than Broccoli, but it's not as airy or washed-out as Arugula, and it feels more settled than Bud Green's middle-ground politeness.
I reach for this shade when the UI needs a living green without the bite. It works well in agriculture dashboards where status states must stay readable, in health platforms for indicators that should feel calm, and in product interfaces as a secondary action color that won't steal focus from warmer accents. Against white it holds softness without going pale, so it's a good fit for cards, pills, and quiet labels that still need to land. Compared to Bud Green, it has a slightly more straw-like undertone, less "fresh leaf," more "drying field."
One quirk: if you pair it with very cool grays, it can look a touch dusty. Warm neutrals or off-whites keep it feeling grounded.
