Inland Waters

On my screens, Inland Waters reads like a calm channel of blue-gray under overcast light. It's not as deep as Cavolo Nero and it doesn't carry Gothic's extra gray flattening. Instead, it lands in a more balanced middle: a muted cool tint with enough clarity to feel present, but not heavy.

I reach for it in dashboards and data tables where you want a steady surface for panels, headers, and subtle states without looking like you borrowed from navy. It shows up well in healthcare portals, logistics platforms, and fintech-style UIs when you need the background to recede slightly while keeping charts and typography crisp. Compared to Grauzone, it's less drained and more readable at a glance, so it won't feel like a decision to the eye.

One quirk: it leans a touch more toward true blue than the gray-leaning neighbors, so pair it with type colors that have a little warmth, or everything can feel uniformly cool.
