Monument
#84898c
Duller mid gray with bluish, steel-like neutrality
About Monument
I notice Monument in screenshots as soon as there's a wall of "almost-gray": it doesn't go as cool or bluish as Arctic Ice, and it doesn't get as heavy and steel-tight as Aluminium. This one sits mid-light with a softer, slightly chalked look, so it reads calm first, not industrial.
Compared to Ironside, Monument is less brushed-steel and a bit more subdued, so it supports dense layouts without feeling like it's asking for attention. And against Grey Area's neutral middle, Monument is smoother and a touch cooler in mood, not the decision-bridge shade you'd use for "neutral-but-ready." I use Monument for administrative surfaces in healthcare portals and logistics dashboards, especially behind form fields, table gutters, and secondary cards where you want hierarchy but not friction. It's the kind of gray that keeps charts readable in dashboards and finance apps, and still feels deliberate on design systems.
Small caution: pair it with deep charcoal text and avoid too-cool accents. Otherwise it can start to feel a little washed next to sharper chrome grays like Aluminium.
