Mithril
#878787
Soft neutral gray with muted silvery edge
About Mithril
Mithril sits in that middle gray zone where everything looks gently resolved. Compared to Argent, it doesn't feel quite as "balanced and steady" or as workmanlike on first glance. It reads a touch softer and more grounded, with less of that crisp neutrality. You notice it most when a UI wants calm without turning flat.
I reach for Mithril in interface chrome and long-scrolling product surfaces: analytics workspaces, data catalogs, and CMS back offices where fields and tables need to stay readable for hours. It also shows up in media workflows like video review timelines and post-production dashboards, where you want panels to recede without slipping into the heavier darkness of Black Mana. Saturated UI accents still pop, but the background won't feel as cold as Grey.
Quick quirk: on its own, it can feel a little subdued next to brighter grays, so pair it with cleaner contrast for headings. the one you reach for when you want restraint, not disappearance.
