Otterly Brown
#8c4512
Clove-brown warmth with deeper orange undertone for contrast
About Otterly Brown
Otterly Brown looks like a warm cocoa sleeve for a coffee cup, not the glossy drink-brown of Espresso Martini or the deeper, more assertive Brownie. Compared with those, it lands a touch lighter and less saturated, so the surface reads more like matte baked earth than liquid amber. The undertone has a steady orange-brown lean, but it doesn't pull as red as Cigar.
I use it when I need a brown that stays friendly in product UI: e-commerce promos, bakery and beverage category headers, and packaging callouts where you want contrast without the "bar lighting" shine. It also works as a muted brand accent on warm creams, table labels, and card borders where Hazelnut Chocolate would look a little more chocolate-forward and slightly less settled.
Pair it with oats, caramel, or light straw yellows for balance. Keep cool grays to a minimum, though, or the shade starts to look flat and dusty instead of cozy and controlled.
