Saffronaut
#932a25
Deep saffron-red that sharpens port accents
About Saffronaut
Saffronaut (#932a25) reads like a thin, sunlit saffron stain over a brick wall. It's noticeably more orange than the tomato-leaning reds around it, and the saturation stays controlled instead of turning into that burnt, scorched intensity you get with darker neighbors.
I use it in dashboards and finance apps when I want urgency, but I need the alert to feel the one you reach for that still behaves like orange. It's great for risk badges, subscription tier pills, and logistics exceptions where "redder" options feel a little too strict. Compared with Ripasso, it doesn't lock into a clean red-forward signal, and next to Potion № 9 it feels less dusty and more golden at a glance.
One pairing note: on pale creams it holds its glow well, but with cool grays it can look slightly sharper. If you want it to feel less prickly, add a warm neutral or a cocoa-toned accent.
