About Stormy Bay
Stormy Bay reads like a gray that stayed outside in light rain. The surface is soft and slightly foggy, but there's a muted blue cast that never turns into the blue-green personality Ether has. Compared with Crown of Ash's steadiness, this one has a touch more softness and lightness, so it doesn't feel as restrained. And next to Seafoam Slate's misted glass vibe, Stormy Bay feels more grounded and less sea-glass airy.
It's the one you reach for in product interfaces where you want calmer than Casper, but without Ether's whispery character. I like it behind dashboards and finance apps for table chrome, secondary panels, and card backgrounds that need to hold up in busy layouts. It also works well in editorial UI and settings screens where the page should feel quiet, not flat.
One quirk: because it's cool-toned and lightly saturated, pairing it with hard white can make it look a bit washed out. Slightly deeper text and restrained blues keep it reading as intentional.
