Pigeon

On a light-mode canvas, Pigeon reads like a soft city sidewalk after a light rain. It's a medium-light gray that feels calmer and more grounded than Alpine Air, but it never drifts toward the beige-leaning comfort that makes other grays start to warm up. Compared to Elephant in the Room, it has a slightly firmer presence, a touch more depth, so it doesn't disappear quite as readily.

What I notice is the undertone: Pigeon stays strictly neutral with a muted, cool-leaning cast. That makes it a solid choice for editorial layouts where you need gray space that won't fight skin tones, and for content platforms that sit under lots of photography and UI. I also reach for it in documentation sites and admin dashboards when the interface needs to feel steady without the colder tension some grays bring. It pairs cleanly with near-black type and restrained accent blues.

Quirk to watch: if you push highly saturated warm accents against it, Pigeon can look a bit "smoky," so keep those highlights muted or slightly desaturated.
