Rose Ashes
#b5acab
Warm dusty mauve-gray for softer, rosier balance
About Rose Ashes
I keep coming back to Rose Ashes when I want a gray that feels handled, not manufactured. It's soft and slightly lifted, with a dusty rose cast that reads neither beige nor taupe, just calm and a touch shy. Compared to Grey Sheep, it doesn't feel as plain or neutral, and compared to Martini it carries less milkiness and more muted rosiness.
For real work, it lands well in healthcare and wellness product UI, where you want surfaces to feel clean without going sterile. I also like it for editorial CMS panels, retail return flows, and gallery or card management screens where typography needs contrast that doesn't look harsh. It's lighter than Cold Turkey, so it doesn't anchor the page as aggressively, but it still gives structure behind forms and media controls. the one you reach for when the layout needs soft presence with a gentle rose-leaning undertone.
Pair it with deeper charcoal text and cooler secondary borders to keep the pink note intentional, not accidental.
