Argan Oil
#9d6646
Medium-light argan brown with soft golden undertone
About Argan Oil
Argan Oil is muted where its neighbors are declared. Bourbon and Brown Sugar both lean into saturation, they announce themselves. This one sits back. It's got enough warmth to read brown, but there's a dryness to it, almost dusty, like the color has been sitting in natural light long enough that the edges have softened. Less caramel depth than Brown Sugar, less metallic confidence than Boho Copper. Just a straightforward, slightly desaturated warm brown.
Reach for it in editorial layouts, hospitality interfaces, and product detail pages where you need a background that doesn't compete. It works as a card container, a button state, a sidebar accent, anywhere the color should do its job without performing. Against off-whites and warm grays it disappears naturally. Against cream it reads quietly brown instead of richly brown. It won't pull focus at full-bleed scale the way Bourbon will, which makes it safer for layouts where hierarchy matters.
The trade-off: that restraint means it can feel a bit flat if you pair it with cool neutrals. Test it against your grays first. Stick with warm or neutral companions and it settles. Use it as a resting color, not an accent.
