Stroopwafel
#a86f48
Softer caramel brown, less rosy and drier than Bourbon
About Stroopwafel
Stroopwafel looks like the outer ribbon of caramelized dough when it's just cooled: light brown-gold, not deep like a molasses pour. Compared to Pecan, it's less dusty and more syrupy-smooth, with a higher lightness that stays readable instead of turning into a muted nut shell. It's also more golden-brown than Hazel, so it doesn't drift into that soil-spice direction.
In UI, I like it as a warm midtone for card headers, label backgrounds, and small panels where you want a golden-brown lift without the deeper focus that Bourbon brings. It's especially handy for food and beverage branding assets, bakery packaging accents, and editorial section markers where the tone needs to feel **pantry-soft rather than toasted-crust dark**.
Pairing note: keep an eye on very orange-heavy neighbors, because Stroopwafel can start to look slightly sweeter and lighter than you intended. Against cool grays it holds up fine, but it reads best with creamy off-whites and honeyed neutrals.
