Salvia
#a8b59e
Muted sage balance with a slightly warmer undertone
About Salvia
Salvia is the green I spot on the lip of a pressed herb jar: soft, slightly dusty, and noticeably paler than the leafier options. It doesn't sink into leaf-gray the way Gargoyle does. And it doesn't come off moss-clean and balanced like Norway. Salvia stays in a light sage lane, cooler in undertone than Meadow Morn, so it feels airy without going thin.
I use it when I need a calm background that still reads clearly as green. Think wellness and cooking brand pages, where you want content to feel fresh but not bright, and editorial layouts that need gentle separation behind cards, callouts, and sidebars. It's also a good choice for UI header bands in food and health apps when the rest of the interface is neutral and you want the green note to be the one you reach for without looking shadowed. In dashboards and finance apps it works as a soft wash next to grays, but it stays greener and lighter than Gargoyle.
Pair it with crisper text colors. On warmer creams, Salvia can start to look a bit washed out, so I keep the contrast more intentional.
