Gargoyle
#abb39e
Dusty olive-gray for moody, grounded UI contrast
About Gargoyle
I keep landing on Gargoyle when I want green to feel like it's been sitting in shadow. It's a muted, slightly dusty leaf-gray, but unlike Animal Kingdom it doesn't split into that exact green-gray standoff. Gargoyle stays more clearly green, while being softer and more beige-leaning than Green Tea.
Compared to Camping Grounds, it's less weathered and flatter, with a calm, smoky undertone instead of that grounded outdoor fabric vibe. I use it for editorial thumbnails and metadata panels where you need the background to disappear without turning neutral, and for health and cooking product pages that can't handle harsh brightness. It also plays well behind tables in dashboards and finance apps, especially when the UI already has greys and you still want a green note.
Quirk: on very warm creams it can look a touch heavy. Pair it with cooler whites or charcoal for crisp separation.
