Cookie Dough
#ab7100
Creamy, light amber for softer warmth blocks
About Cookie Dough
Cookie Dough sits darker and denser than everything around it in this family, it's got the yellow undertone of Butterbeer but with none of the softness, and it's noticeably more brown than Caramel Coating without tipping into pure chocolate. This is the shade that doesn't apologize for taking up space. It reads substantial, almost earthy, the kind of warm brown you see in leather or roasted coffee beans.
Use it where you need a background that feels substantial but not severe, product cards in e-commerce, sidebar navigation in editorial layouts, button states in food and hospitality interfaces. It pairs well with cream and warm white, but here's the thing: it actually improves against cool grays instead of fighting them. It's the one you reach for when lighter yellows feel too timid and the deeper browns feel too heavy.
The catch is knowing when to stop. Large areas of it can feel almost utilitarian if you're not balancing it with plenty of breathing room, so test it at scale before you commit. It's got enough saturation to hold its own, but it works best when you're being intentional about what sits next to it.
