About Lady-In-Waiting
Look at a pale blue header behind a form and you'll notice this one behaves like a "real" light color, not a near-white veil. Lady-In-Waiting sits a touch deeper and more noticeably saturated than Ariel, so it still reads as blue at a glance. At the same time, it's cooler and cleaner than Distant Homeworld's warmer pull.
For me, it's the background shade I reach for when I want calm without going clinical, especially in dashboards and finance apps where cards and tables need breathing room but shouldn't feel sterile. Use it in fintech settings pages, patient portal secondary panels, onboarding screens, and SaaS content areas where you're balancing trust with readability. It pairs effortlessly with dark slate or navy, and it holds its "blue-ness" better than the more ice-leaning option.
One quirk: if your display is aggressively cool, it can drift toward a slightly muted tone. In that case, lean on text that's gray-based rather than blue-tinted so the whole UI stays coherent.
