Pure Passion
#b40039
Cleaner medium crimson-orange for emphasis without weight
About Pure Passion
On my monitor, Pure Passion reads like a red that's been pulled a touch toward orange, but it stays cleaner and brighter than the wine-leaning reds in this family. It doesn't go smoky, and it doesn't thin out into "true red" territory like Akai Red. The undertone is hot and direct, with a high-saturation core that keeps it from feeling wine-cool like Kirsch.
I use this shade when I want a red that looks urgent without drifting into the darker, depth-first mood. It works especially well for on-screen product highlights in retail and CPG, and for error, alert, and onboarding states in consumer apps where you need attention fast but not aggression. Compared to Hot Cuba, it holds more of that crisp "passion" heat instead of looking like a neatly turned-up orange-red.
One pairing note: Pure Passion sits happiest next to warm creams, deep charcoal, and bright neutrals. With cool grays it can start to feel a little more "red-red" than you planned, so I try to keep its temperature grounded.
