Federation of Love
#b71010
Softer, darker love-red for calmer alerts
About Federation of Love
On my screen, Federation of Love reads like a red that's fully saturated but still has a little orange pulse at the center. Compared to Bullseye, it's less "alarm button" bright and more controlled, like it wants to lead rather than shout. Compared to Bloody Mary, it gives up some darkness and density, so it feels more present in daylight and less heavy in dark mode. And unlike Harlock's Cape, it sits a touch lighter and less tight, with a smoother undertone that spreads instead of holding like a sharper edge.
I reach for it in commerce and editorial graphics where you need urgency without the warning vibe: promos on packaging dielines, bold callouts in food and retail catalogs, and dashboards and finance apps that need an action state to read fast but not feel harsh. It also holds up in UI accent bars and purchase confirmations, where Bullseye can look too alert and Bloody Mary can look too severe.
One watch-out: because it's warm and medium-deep, it can soften on very creamy whites. Pair it with cooler dark text or deeper neutrals so it stays crisp and purposeful, not rosy.
