Microchip
#babcc0
Slightly warm, subdued neutral for tech panels
About Microchip
Microchip looks like the gray you get after wiping a smudge off matte metal. It's not icy blue, and it doesn't carry that soft lavender haze either. Compared to Arctic Ice, it stays more neutral and evenly weighted, so you don't feel the cool push. Compared to Ethereal Mist, it's firmer and a touch more substantial, so it doesn't float.
Use it for secondary surfaces when you want a background that feels intentional but still restrained. I like it on dashboards and finance apps for card shells, input fields, and disabled states where the UI needs to read "set" rather than just fade. It also works in healthcare portals for panels that shouldn't look sterile.
Pair it with clean neutrals and darker text for crisp hierarchy. If you put it next to Magnesium, you'll notice Microchip keeps the temperature steadier, while Magnesium can lean slightly more workmanlike and less softly balanced.
