Metal is the gray that's trying to work, not disappear. It's got enough saturation to feel solid on screen, denser than Ghost Whisperer, more grounded than Alpine Air's green-tinged breathing room. This is the middle ground that actually commits to being useful instead of just fading into the background.

Reach for it in product interfaces, dashboards, and content platforms where you need a secondary surface that doesn't apologize. It sits well under type, holds form states without drama, and won't drain the energy from photography the way cooler, paler grays do. Unlike Aquatic Edge's deliberate teal whisper, Metal stays neutral, but it's not boring about it. There's just enough warmth baked in to keep it from feeling institutional.

Pair it with darker accents and structured UI elements, and it earns its place. Push it next to very warm tones and the slight cool undertone will show itself, which is fine; it's information about your palette, not a flaw.
