Nimbus Cloud
#c8c8cc
Softer, warmer neutral gray for calm depth
About Nimbus Cloud
I'm always surprised by how quickly Nimbus Cloud reads as "room-temp gray" instead of leaning blue or warm. It's a lighter, softer take on neutral, with a slightly muted surface that feels like diffused daylight through frosted glass. Compared to Herring Silver, it has a touch more haze and a softer presence; compared to Ghost, it's cleaner and less touchy about perceived temperature.
Use it where you want calm structure without looking like you tried too hard: card backgrounds, table shells, and form fields in dashboards and healthcare UI for kiosks, patient portals, and claims workflows. In fintech, it works for secondary panels and input containers when you need hierarchy that won't fight busy data. You can pair it confidently with both cool and warm accents, but unlike Blue Haze, there's no blue whisper pulling the layout toward a specific direction. It stays just grounded enough to let the content do the talking.
One quirk: because it's airy, set it with a slightly darker neutral for borders, or edges can feel a bit too subtle in dense screens.
