Escalope
#cc8866
Light peachy apricot that stays softer than harvest
About Escalope
Escalope (#cc8866) looks like the inside of a well-browned escalope pan: light, peachy, and softly toasted. Compared to Harvest Time, it's less flesh-toned and less settled, with a more noticeable lift. Compared to Baker's Dream, it skews more toward apricot than cinnamon dough, so it reads smoother and a touch more pink. Compared to Copperhead, it's clearly lighter and less clay-rust grounded, so it won't do that "anchor the layout" thing as quickly.
I reach for Escalope when the background needs warmth without drifting into amber dessert territory. It works great for retail UI in fashion and home goods, bakery-adjacent brands that want a gentle tone behind product photography, and editorial card fills where you want skin-tone support but not orange heat. Use it for hero sections, panel backgrounds, and CTA buttons that need to feel friendly and still hold texture.
One quirk: if you pair it with heavy browns, it can start reading a bit salmony. Charcoal or warm neutrals keep it crisp, while creams should be used sparingly so the whole page doesn't flatten into one soft haze.
