Love Potion
#ce145e
Pink-leaning rose-red with crisp magenta snap
About Love Potion
Love Potion reads like magenta-red frosting under studio lighting. It's not the pink-lean of Love Surge, and it's not as dry and headline-clean as Debian Red. Compared with Lusty Lips, it has a denser, more saturated bite, with a cooler undertone that keeps it from turning casual.
I use it when the UI needs romance-level urgency without feeling like policy red. Think fintech "card blocked" and chargeback review chips, telecom identity verification retry prompts, and SaaS onboarding warnings that should feel persistent, not punitive. It's also great for e-commerce media galleries when an item needs to pop as flagged in a list, but you still want the rest of the screen to feel composed. the one I reach for when the moment needs attention and momentum at the same time, especially on midtone surfaces where pure red can look flat.
Pair with off-whites or cool grays so it doesn't slide toward a warmer, flirtier pink. On very warm backgrounds, it can feel almost too sweet for hard stops, so test your extremes.
