Old Gold
#cfb53b
Deeper, earthier gold-green for aged label accents
About Old Gold
Old Gold looks like the label on an antique brass knob after it's been warmed by sunlight, not polished. It's unmistakably gold, but it lands softer and more muted than the punchy token vibe of Gold Tooth, and less open than Oldies but Goldies. Compared to Indian Pale Ale, it reads richer and slightly less dry, with a gentler green-lean underneath instead of that crisp straw edge.
I use it when you want a muted gold accent that still feels premium over green-forward UI. Think green-family interfaces for product cards, promo strips, and membership callouts in retail apps, or price chips and small "featured" badges in ecommerce. It also works well in editorial layouts for ingredient or craft pages where you need warmth that doesn't drift into honey.
Quirk: on very pale, cool backgrounds it can start to feel a touch aged, so I like balancing it with warm neutrals or soft sage so the gold stays intentional. And honestly, the one you reach for when the rest of the palette is clean but a little warmth is still missing.
