Haystack: muted golden-green for softened charts and margins
About Haystack
On a product tile mockup, Haystack reads like a soft straw-green that's been kept indoors, not sun-bleached like Desert. It's lighter than most olives, but less "coin-bright" than Currywurst, and it doesn't carry that copper metal feel Brass Buttons has. The undertone is more neutral-to-warm than earthy-brown greens, so it feels settled rather than rusty.
I usually grab the one you reach for when the design needs a green-family accent with a gentle, dry warmth. Think dashboards and finance apps where you're marking filters, status tags, and secondary CTAs without turning the UI into a yellow highlight. It also shows up well in retail category pills, CPG shelf UI, and editorial section dividers on light layouts because it stays readable and doesn't fight photography the way brighter gold-leaners can.
Quirk: if you put it next to very creamy whites, it can look a touch dusty. A slightly deeper olive or soft charcoal nearby makes it feel anchored instead of washed.
