Ice Desert
#d1dce8
Airy lavender-gray for soft, neutral UI backgrounds
About Ice Desert
Ice Desert reminds me of light bouncing off pale sand, but cooled by a thin veil of sky. It reads as a very soft gray with a noticeable, steady blue tint, not that gray-that-accidentally-happened to be bluish. Compared to Blue Silk, it feels lighter and more powdery, less "intentional" and silk-smooth; compared to Cold Shoulder, it gives up some of that true cool authority and never feels wintry. It also sits farther from Gliding Feather because it has actual color presence, not just near-white quiet.
I use it for secondary surfaces in dashboards and finance apps, especially where you want the background to recede without turning blank. Card headers, input field shells, sidebar containers, and the subtle track behind toggles all benefit from this lighter blue-gray. For UI states, it's a solid choice for disabled panels and secondary content blocks in SaaS and healthcare systems where things need to look calm but still intentional.
One quirk: it pairs best with crisp, darker text. Let it drift toward warm grays and you'll feel the blue tug back.
