Put on Ice
#c8ddea
Crisp, slightly warmer light ice-blue for contrast
About Put on Ice
I put Put on Ice behind a set of charts and it immediately reads as a light, cool-gray wash, but not as pale as Breath of Fresh Air. Next to King of Waves it feels a touch more settled, less watery and more "surface," with tighter saturation. And compared with A Dime a Dozen, it doesn't carry that slight warmth that keeps things round.
This is the one you reach for when you need a quiet backdrop that still looks intentional in media and product work: thumbnail grids on news sites, filter panels in streaming and e-commerce admin, and form surfaces in SaaS onboarding flows. It also behaves well in dashboards and finance apps where you want separation without making the UI look near-white. Pair it with deep slate type and crisp whites for headers, and keep secondary borders a shade darker so the layers stay legible.
Small quirk: because it's cool-leaning, warm accents (peaches, ambers) can feel slightly off if you don't balance them with neutral grays.
