Velvet Horizon
#d39ed2
Warm mauve-pink highlight that reads richer than lavender
About Velvet Horizon
On a product card mockup, Velvet Horizon reads like a velvet-soft pink that's darker and richer than the usual UI pastels, with a gentle plum-lean that keeps it from turning fully rosy. Compared to Girl Power, it's less pushy and less "sports day" confident. Compared to Pastel Violet, it holds onto more pink body and feels less lilac-leaning and daylight-smooth.
I reach for Velvet Horizon in beauty and lifestyle apps where you want emphasis without going neon, especially on promo tiles, account-state banners, and "new drop" surfaces. It also works well in creator dashboards for metric callouts, cohort labels, and section headers where you need clarity but not the assertive punch of Girl Power. For layout, it pairs cleanly with warm off-whites and medium greys so the plum tint stays readable.
Quirk: because it's richer than Lilac Lace, it can feel heavy next to very pale backgrounds. Give it a touch of spacing and keep nearby text on the darker end so it doesn't sink into the page.
