Fish Bone

Fish Bone is what happens when you want gray to stop apologizing. It's got just enough warmth to feel intentional, but it sits lighter and more muted than Bone or Coco Malt, there's less personality fighting for attention. You're not getting the tan-gray pulse of Bone or the softness that makes Coco Malt negotiate with every color around it. This one stays neutral without going sterile, which is harder than it sounds.

Use it in editorial layouts, SaaS dashboards, and publishing interfaces where the background needs to recede but not disappear. It works on long-form reading apps, content platforms, and product UIs where type needs clarity without the surface becoming a distraction. Photography doesn't get buried here. There's enough restraint in the undertone that it pairs cleanly with both warm and cool accents without drama.

The thing to know: it's paler and grayer than Bone, cooler than Coco Malt, but less dramatic than Albescent. That middle position means it won't pull a room's temperature around like some neutrals do. It just does the work and gets out of the way.
