Lifeguard
#e50000
Safety-stop red for bold, high-contrast warnings
About Lifeguard
Lifeguard looks like a red rescue buoy in daylight: unmistakably orange-leaning, but not as razor-sharp as Alarm and not as chili-smeared as Hot Flamin Chilli. On my screen it reads slightly lighter than Heat Signature too, with a clean, buoyant energy instead of that button-glow burn.
I use it when you want urgency that feels fast and human, like lifeguard signage, courier and ride-share app highlights, or promo banners for streaming drops and sports alerts. It also works well for primary CTAs in food delivery and retail when red feels too medical or too "stop now," but you still need the orange family to hit hard. Compared to the nearby options, it's warmer and steadier than Heat Signature, and less uncompromising than Alarm.
Pair it with cool grays, navy, or near-black UI surfaces so the orange stays in charge without turning aggressive.
