Transfusion
#ea1833
Medical red-orange with higher heat, alert-ready
About Transfusion
On a prototype screen, Transfusion reads like a red that's been pulled slightly toward orange, but it doesn't get the same warmth ramp as Neon Romance. Compared to Blood Donor, it holds a touch more brightness and punch, and it feels less centered and more urgent. Versus Barberry, it's warmer and more saturated, so it doesn't come off clinical or coolly distant. It's still serious, just not razor-sharp.
I use it for war-room urgency that has to stay controlled: dashboards and finance apps for takeover warnings, processing states, and high-priority rule breaks. It also works in healthcare product UI for dosing confirmations and safety prompts where you want to stop scrolling without triggering panic. It's the one you reach for when you need red to feel present on white, then behave on dark.
Pair it with medium grays or muted off-whites; with warm creams it can start to look a little too lively, like a banner instead of a status.
