Picture a pale yellow highlighter that got cleaned up and dried out. John Lemon is that sort of lane: light, almost chalky, and sharply cool-leaning compared to the other yellows, so it doesn't carry the heat you expect from Banana King or the more electric punch of High Voltage.

In practice, it's the yellow I use when I need labels, tags, and status cues to read fast without feeling like an alert siren. Think dashboards at retail banks, logistics portals, and admin panels where you want the one you reach for for "in progress" and "attention needed" states, plus bright CTA accents in explainer graphics and onboarding screens. Compared to Busy Bee, it's lighter but a touch less saturated, so it behaves more like an emphasis paint than a full-on glare.

One quirk: keep it away from very warm golds, or it'll look washed beside them. Against cool grays, though, it clicks cleanly and stays legible across dense UI.
