Prometheus Orange
#f4581e
Smokeless, balanced orange for precise alert states
About Prometheus Orange
Prometheus Orange looks like a hard-lit safety stripe, but with a cleaner, slightly gentler orange core than the toy-plastic bounce of Plastic Carrot. It's also not the built-up heat of Fiery Glow or the sweet, ink-bright feel of Orangealicious. This shade comes off as more composed and deliberate, with a tighter orange undertone that reads less sugary and less ember-adjacent.
I use it when I need clear primary action energy that won't tip into near-red warmth, especially on dashboards and finance apps where you want urgency without "alarm" vibes. It's great for confirmation buttons, status pills, and key metrics in analytics views, plus CMS admin controls where orange needs to be noticeable but not messy on mid-tones. Compared to the brighter, friendlier reads around it, the one you reach for is the shade that stays legible and confident over busy UI textures.
Quirk: on very warm off-whites it can feel a bit more industrial than playful, so I usually anchor it with cooler grays or a neutral charcoal surface.
