Poppy Flower
#ec5800
Poppy orange with softer ember warmth, less smoky
About Poppy Flower
I keep thinking of a poppy head seen through bright afternoon sun, that exact "flower-picked" orange that feels crisp instead of smoky. Poppy Flower sits in the Orange family, but it's not ember-cool like Cigarette Glow, and it doesn't have Furious Tiger's darker, more aggressive orange core. It also isn't the clean, ink-bright sweetness of Orangealicious. This one is a clean mid-orange warmth with a slightly higher lightness than the neighbors, so it reads present and friendly, not urgent.
For UI work, I use it where you want an active state that still looks like orange, not near-red. Think social feeds and streaming apps for subscribe and follow actions, or commerce buttons in food delivery and rideshare checkouts where the interface needs motion cues without feeling like an alarm. It's the one you reach for when the state should feel sunny and fresh, even on mid-tone panels.
Quick note: on very warm backgrounds it can start to look softer at the edges, so I usually pair it with cooler grays or a slightly muted orange-gray surface to keep it sharp.
