About Flan
Flan reads like a pale, custard-tan swatch caught in late-afternoon light. It's noticeably cooler and more muted than Gentle Glow, with less beige-green haze and a steadier, smoother body than Butter Muffin. And unlike Banana Mania, it doesn't lean into a committed yellow. It stays airy, but it still looks "painted," not washed out.
I reach for Flan when the background has to feel warm without pulling attention away from people and product. It shows up well in consumer and CPG product pages, light editorial modules, and ecommerce category hero areas where you want a soft field for type and imagery. In UI, it works in dashboards and wellness interfaces as a calm canvas that won't fight darker greens, espresso browns, or cool gray text. It's also a solid choice for packaging mockups and food branding comps when you want warmth that feels baked-in, not yellow.
Quirk to watch: place it next to true cream or stark paper white and it becomes more obvious. If you want it to look "intentional," pair it with deeper neutrals or a gentle green accent so it doesn't flatten.
