Blue

This is pure primary blue, no purple undertone trying to soften it, no apology in the saturation. It's the kind of blue that doesn't negotiate, it's darker and more committed than Blustering Blue, colder than Blurple, and it's got none of the weight that C64 Blue carries. Instead it feels direct and clean, the way primary colors are supposed to feel before someone decides they need personality.

You reach for it in interfaces where blue needs to read as blue, data visualization, medical software, finance dashboards, accessibility-critical designs. It works in dark mode because it pops without glowing, in light mode because it doesn't wash out. Games use it, design tools use it, anywhere the job is to communicate function over mood. Pair it with neutrals and it stays professional. Against warm accents it stays true to itself instead of leaning into them the way its purple-tinged neighbors do.

The catch: it's lonely in brand palettes. Pair it with colors that have more personality and it'll make them look tired. It's better as the workhorse than the centerpiece.
