Vivid Blue
#152eff
High-saturation electric blue accent for cool purples
About Vivid Blue
I keep noticing this one the moment a screen goes slightly too magenta or too cobalt. Vivid Blue lands in between, but it's not trying to be a truce color. It's cooler and more deliberate than the brighter options, and less punchy than C64 Blue's heavy, weighted presence. The undertone reads purple without turning it into that "in-between" shuffle you get from Blustering Blue.
Use it when you need a blue that stays clean in motion but still feels anchored. I reach for it in music production software for transport controls, key highlights, and timeline markers, and in gaming UIs for selection states that must remain readable on busy HUD layers. Compared with Vibrant Blue, it's a touch more grounded and less sky-like, so it doesn't feel washed or overly airy in dark mode.
Pair with warm accents to prevent the purple edge from feeling too cool, but keep the warmth moderate or it starts drifting toward violet instead of staying truly blue.
