Ruined Smores
#0f1012
Warm, ashy gray that softens near-black blue
About Ruined Smores
This gray looks like a s'mores crust after the flame goes out. You still get the cocoa-brown warmth sitting inside the dark, but it's been dulled by soot. Ruined Smores is a deep graphite gray with a slightly desaturated, ember-leaning undertone, so it doesn't go blue-tight like Midnight Oil or Midnight Edition.
What I reach for is UI chrome that needs to feel grounded, not icy. It holds up on dark mode editor panels, transport controls, and broadcast monitoring sidebars where the background should stay calm under fast-changing waveforms and metadata. It also works in dashboards and finance apps when you want hierarchy to stay deliberate without the void-like pull of Dark Rift. Compared to Midnight Oil's navy sheen, this one reads more warm-gray and less glossy.
Quirk: because the warmth is subtle, keep borders and separators a touch cleaner and cooler than the main field, or dividers can start to look slightly "cooked" instead of crisp.
