Dreamless Sleep
#111111
Near-black gray with neutral, calming bedtime depth
About Dreamless Sleep
Dreamless Sleep looks like a black that decided to breathe out. It's nearly neutral and a touch lifted, so the UI doesn't feel sealed-in like Cursed Black, and it doesn't settle into Dark Veil's gray hush. Compared to Black Wash, it keeps a faint sense of air, with less "nothingness" and a steadier, calmer tone.
I use it as the base layer when I want dark surfaces that stay quiet under dense type: production dashboards for logistics and insurance portals, video conferencing admin pages, and monitoring walls in broadcast control rooms. It's also my the one you reach for when a dark editor timeline needs to keep bright overlays crisp without turning the background into a harsh void.
Quirk: because it's slightly lighter and more even than near-black, thin dividers can look a bit softer. If that happens, I bump contrast and lean highlights slightly cooler than the body so edges stay defined.
