Nightly Expedition
#221188
Muted midnight violet with steadier, blue-light depth
About Nightly Expedition
Nightly Expedition reads like a deep, velvety purple on the edge of going black, but it doesn't tip cool like Galactic Cruise or snap brighter like Dramatic Blue. Compared to Indiglow, it's noticeably less luminous, so it feels quieter and heavier. The undertone is more violet-rich than blue-leaning, with a slightly desaturated look that keeps it from turning into a neon accent.
I'm usually choosing Nightly Expedition for dashboards and finance apps when I need a primary action color that stays legible without glowing. It works well for insurance and brokerage UIs, where you want important tabs, selected states, and table highlights to feel "locked in" rather than airy. In media products, it's strong for playback state buttons and timeline markers, especially when you don't want the highlight to look too electric or too navy.
Quirk: it pairs best with muted cool grays and crisp off-whites. Against warm backgrounds it can look a bit sooty, and it may blur into nearby dark purples unless you give it a clean contrast partner.
