Denim blue with muted violet undertone for steady UI panels
About Denim
Denim reads like a mid-depth blue that's been deliberately muted, not a crisp primary. Next to Blue Screen of Death or Blue Hour, you notice it doesn't punch with pure force and it doesn't breathe with that extra warm restraint. Instead it lands cooler and steadier, with a slightly softened saturation and a cleaner, denim-in-workwear mood that feels more grounded than "serious."
I use Denim for dashboards and finance apps where you need primary UI structure, but you don't want the blue to feel absolute. Think data tables, chart series highlights, step indicators, and action bars in SaaS admin panels, logistics portals, and internal tools. Compared to Flying Fish Blue, it has less airy lift and more weight, so it holds attention in dense layouts without tipping into that heavier, statement-blue behavior.
One small gotcha: because it's cooler and slightly muted, very saturated purples can make it look even flatter. If that happens, balance it with neutral grays or small warm accents so the interface keeps its edge.
