Blue Funk

Blue Funk is darker than Bonne Nuit and cooler than Cascade Twilight, but it doesn't feel like either. It's got less saturation than both, which means it reads quieter, the kind of shade that sits in the background without vanishing. There's blue in here without Assassin's steel edge. It's just flat enough to feel stable, just dark enough that it works in tight spaces.

You reach for this in dense layouts, data visualization, admin dashboards, and fintech and healthcare interfaces where the color needs to anchor without competing. Form inputs, chart lines, secondary navigation, icon fills, anywhere you need something that reads clearly at small sizes and doesn't fight for attention. It's got enough presence to function as a visual hierarchy marker, but it won't overwhelm a busy screen. Against white it disappears less than you'd think. Against dark backgrounds it holds steady without that glow problem deeper purples create.

The thing to watch: pair it against clean, cool neutrals and it settles immediately. Warm grays or textured backgrounds will push it toward muddy. This one's at its best when it's the darkest element in a restrained palette, let it work alone, not in competition.
