Starless Night

Starless Night feels like the gray you notice when a browser tab goes inactive and the room stays dim. It's not the deep, monitor-bezel grit of Dark Crypt, and it doesn't recede as far as Abyssal. Compared with Midnight Sky, this one holds a steadier, slightly more muted surface, less smooth-cool and more low-saturation weight.

I use it as a dependable backdrop for dark-mode editor panels where you want structure without that "everything sinks" effect. Great for newsroom CMS templates, media asset browsers, and the dense middle zones of design-system components, especially around grids, annotation rails, and metadata rows for video or photo libraries. It also works in audio workflows when you want thumbnails and waveform controls to read cleanly without drifting warmer.

Pair it with lighter grays and neutral accents; with very cool neighbors the tone can start to feel a bit heavy rather than grounded. I treat it like the one you reach for when you need consistency, not drama.
