Forbidden Passion

Smoky deep orange-red for passionate, restrained emphasis
About Forbidden Passion
Late-night highlights from a rusted marquee look like Forbidden Passion on my screen, that deep orange-red that doesn't go fully brown or fully crimson. Compared to Cherry Picking, it's a shade more muted and warmer at the same time, with less "alive" clarity. Compared to Festive Bordeaux, it reads darker and more brick-forward, losing some of that wine freshness. And unlike Bloodlust, it still keeps an orange undertone, so it feels less like iron and char.
I reach for this when packaging needs to feel weighted and human, not archival or severe. It's great for brand marks, sticker borders, and editorial cover stripes where you want serious warmth without the flatness of the darker reds. In UI, it holds up in dark mode buttons and settings panes when you need the one you reach for for a standout accent that won't turn hostile.
Pair it with cream, tan, or warm neutrals; cold grays will pull it toward dullness fast. On very glossy stock it can look heavier than you expect, so I test it before locking the layout.
