About Onsen

Onsen looks like steam catching the light on a wet tile floor. It's not the "bright splash" kind of aqua, and it's not the darker, more forceful turquoise you feel in heavy UI accents. This one is gentler, higher in lightness, with a balanced green undertone that keeps it calm.

I reach for Onsen when the interface needs a soft cool tone that still reads clearly at a glance. It works well in product interfaces, wellness apps, and hydration or sleep dashboards as a surface color for cards and secondary backgrounds, especially where you want that spa-like signal without the sharper cyan edge that can feel clinical. Versus Aphrodite Aqua and , it gives you presence without their deeper saturation push.

Pair it with off-whites and mid grays rather than stark pure white. Onsen will look a bit less "quiet" on pure white, but it stays consistently serene when the surrounding neutrals have warmth.
