Grapes of Italy
#714a8b
Muted, balanced grape purple for subtle hierarchy
About Grapes of Italy
On my monitor, Grapes of Italy reads like a mulberry-toned purple that's been slightly cooled down and darkened, not dulled into gray. Compared to Berry Jam, it loses the earthy warmth and dusty texture, and instead feels more polished and concentrated. It's deeper than Bellflower, but it doesn't go muddy like the warmer end of the family.
I reach for this when I need rich, cooled purple for UI accents that still feel grounded. It shows up well in media platforms and creator tools for highlights, progress states, and secondary navigation where you want the interface to feel intentional, not clinical. In music apps and editorial layouts, it gives you that "letterpress ink" density without the jammy undertone Berry Jam has.
Pair it with warm off-whites or soft greige so the color stays expressive. On very cold backgrounds it can look a touch stern, so I usually counterbalance with a warmer neutral or lighter violet for balance.
