About Perkin Mauve
Perkin Mauve hits like a violet ink swab that's been slightly lifted. It's noticeably lighter than Lords of the Night, but it doesn't go airy like Poppy Pompadour. The undertone sits between blue-cool and plum-warm, so it reads smooth and controlled instead of fuchsia-leaning or mulberry-heavy.
For UI, I use it when I need a purple accent that feels confident without turning into the "pressed tight" depth you get from Grapes of Italy. It works great in creator platforms and video editorial timelines for clip badges, selection ranges, and status pills where you want hierarchy that stays legible. It's also a solid pick for dashboards and finance apps that need differentiation from grays without sliding toward magenta density, and it stays more centered than the more playful Poppy Pompadour.
Pair it with neutral slates or soft off-whites. If you put it on warmer creams, it can drift a touch pink, so I usually steer toward cooler whites when it has to stay precise.
