Cuba Libre
#73383c
Moody burgundy-orange for deeper, warmer accents
About Cuba Libre
I keep thinking of Cuba Libre as a brown-red that's been poured a little thicker, not dirtier. It lands mid-brown with a tighter, wine-tinged undertone, so it reads decisively reddish instead of drifting into rust-gray or weathered earth.
Compared to Crown of Thorns, it keeps more red and loses that grayed, weathered looseness. Versus Dockside Red, it's less brick-bright and more muted, so the red feels blended rather than soaked. And unlike Arcane Red's dense seriousness, Cuba Libre stays lighter and more "worked-in," so it won't feel as heavy on screen.
I reach for it in beverage and food branding, retail signage, and product UI themes where you want warmth with restraint. It also works well in editorial hero blocks and chart accents over warm neutrals. Pair it with creams or warm grays for depth; cool whites tend to make it look a touch flatter than you expect.
