Red Octopus

Muted, cool crimson for restrained red hierarchy
About Red Octopus
Red Octopus looks like a wet, inkier red pulled toward brick, not a bright blush. Where Flirt feels forward and satin-dry like paint with a pulse, this one settles deeper and darker, with a tighter, more contained burn. It also avoids the cocoa heaviness you get in Köfte Brown, and it never turns as wine-smooth as Satin Chocolate. The mood is "controlled heat," not "flaring panic."
On a UI, I use it for secondary destructive moments that still need authority: payment dispute and chargeback screens, refund rejection banners, and account lock or verification failure states in fintech. In commerce dashboards it's the red-tag color that flags without yelling in table headers, status chips, and row highlights. It pairs cleanly with warm grays and oatmeal neutrals so the undertone stays consistent, and it reads as the one you reach for when you want urgency that feels deliberate.
One quirk: on very pale backgrounds it can feel heavy. Add a touch more contrast or keep the surrounding neutrals warm so it doesn't flatten.
