Wandering River

Softer river blue for calm, layered UI maps
About Wandering River
Wandering River is the blue I notice when a UI feels finished, not just filled in. It lands in that watery middle ground: lighter than Shipmate, but without Shipmate's clean bounce. And unlike Serene Sea, it doesn't read as sea-glass airy. It's a bit more saturated and more settled, so it feels like color with weight, not color with air.
I use it for Wandering River backgrounds when I want blue presence that still stays professional. Think dashboards and finance apps that need calmer panels than Far Horizons, where Far Horizons can feel slightly brighter and warmer. It also holds up in healthcare admin screens where you want quiet clarity, but you don't want the cool neutrality to flatten everything the way Grauzone can. Pair it with crisp white cards and medium neutrals for dividers, then keep text on the cooler side so the tone stays consistent.
Quirk: on very high-contrast layouts, Wandering River can look a touch more assertive than you expected, so I dial back saturation in adjacent accents rather than changing the base.
